Over 20 Years Experience
Only Museum Quality

The paintings we create are only of museum quality. Our academy graduated artists will never allow a compromise in the quality and detail of the ordered painting. TOPofART do not work, and will never allow ourselves to work with low quality studios from the Far East. We are based in Europe, and quality is our highest priority.

Eugene Boudin, an esteemed artist and follower of Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, specialized in capturing landscapes primarily along the northern coast of France. He played a pivotal role in promoting plein air painting, advocating for artists to work directly in the open air rather than sketching outdoors and creating a final composition in the studio. This artistic approach became more feasible in the 1840s when the advent of oil paints in tubes replaced the previous method of using pigs' bladders. The introduction of tubes allowed paints to remain moist for longer periods as the caps could be securely placed, facilitating outdoor painting.

Nevertheless, many artists were initially hesitant to adjust their palettes according to the natural light surrounding them or to depict landscapes under natural lighting conditions.

Boudin's significant influence on Impressionism stemmed from his encounter with Claude Monet in 1858. Monet swiftly fell under Boudin's sway and later remarked, "If I became a painter, it was thanks to Boudin."

Additionally, Boudin ventured into painting scenes of leisure involving the French population, often set by the seaside. This concept was relatively uncommon during his time but was swiftly embraced by the young and progressive group of artists who would later be recognized as the Impressionists.

His paintings often possess an expressive and sketch-like quality, seldom featuring a central subject. Instead, they showcase small figures under expansive, vibrant skies. In his later years, Corot referred to these artistic renditions as "meteorological beauties" and bestowed upon Boudin the title of the "king of the skies."
