Italian Rococo Painter
Giovanni Antonio Canal, better known as Canaletto, was an Italian painter born on October 28, 1697, in Venice, Italy. He is renowned for his highly detailed and atmospheric paintings of Venice, which captured the city's architecture, canals, and everyday life with remarkable precision and skill. Canaletto's works played a significant role in shaping the veduta genre (cityscape painting) and establishing his reputation as one of the greatest painters of the 18th century.
