Also, there are postal restrictions, regarding the size of the shipment.
Additionally, due to the dimensions of the stretched canvas, the shipment price may exceed the price of the product itself.

You can stretch and frame your painting in your local frame-shop.

Once the painting Still Life is ready and dry, it will be shipped to your delivery address. The canvas will be rolled-up in a secure postal tube.

Over 20 Years Experience
Only Museum Quality

The paintings we create are only of museum quality. Our academy graduated artists will never allow a compromise in the quality and detail of the ordered painting. TOPofART do not work, and will never allow ourselves to work with low quality studios from the Far East. We are based in Europe, and quality is our highest priority.

Vincent van Gogh’s "Still Life" from 1888, part of the Barnes Foundation collection, exemplifies his exploration of color, composition, and texture. Painted shortly after Van Gogh’s move to Arles, this canvas is more than just a representation of objects; it’s part of the artist’s ongoing series of "color studies." Through this process, Van Gogh arranged flowers and objects in different combinations to explore bold chromatic relationships and test the limits of color's emotional and visual impact.

In this particular piece, Van Gogh focuses on the interaction between cool blues and greens and warm, earthy yellows. The blue majolica vase, adorned with painted decorations, anchors the composition with its deep, dark hues, while the white teacup next to it offers a quiet contrast with its delicate patterning. Both objects recur in several of his still lifes from this period, suggesting they held a personal significance for him or were readily available in his studio.

The flowers in the vase—likely thistles or wild blooms—explode outwards with wild, spiky textures, their chaotic forms juxtaposing the solid, rounded fruits placed on the table. The fruits, possibly apples or lemons, stand out against the soft, pale blue tablecloth, and their warm, golden tones highlight Van Gogh’s skillful use of complementary colors.

The background is a flat, buttery yellow field, creating a saturated backdrop that allows the foreground objects to take center stage. It’s in this combination of everyday objects, natural forms, and bold color choices that Van Gogh transforms a simple still life into a vivid, emotionally resonant study of the relationship between color, light, and form. Through his distinctive brushwork, he brings life to the inanimate, inviting viewers into his world of vibrant visual experimentation.
